Possibilities of modern plastic surgery are growing every year. Quite often people have obvious imperfections of the body which are noticeable to others. There are people, who have been struggling with overweight throughout life, however, without effect or, in case of self-victory, end up with excessive skin, deformation of body contours which prevent them from enjoying the obtained results. Weight change, endocrine profile alteration, pregnancy, lactation bring about irreversible changes of body contours. With that, excessive fat of one part of the body can often be used to fill other problem zones. Complex, analytical approach enables to achieve maximum results with minimal number of operations and risks.
Abdominoplasty is a procedure that changes the shape of the abdomen. It involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the abdomen, restoration of the proper tone and shape of the anterior and lateral abdominal wall aponeurosis, rearrangement of adipodermal flap. It is often combined with liposuction of both the abdomen and adjacent areas.
Partial (mini) abdominoplasty is one of the variants of aesthetic operations in the abdominal area which is indicated if there is a small amount of excess abdominal skin, predominantly under the belly button, to be removed. Apart from excessive skin, aponeurosis may be tightened to flatten the abdomen in this area. The horizontal scar runs below the panty line. The drawback of the operation is that the belly button slides down lower on the abdominal wall as a result of skin tightening, which may be unaesthetic, especially if the position of the belly button was initially low.
Miniabdominoplasty may be combined with liposuction if needed.
Body lift is a complex procedure which combines the improvement of the abdominal area, waist, inner and outer thighs and buttocks. Body lifting may be performed in the patients who have lost weight significantly, when the excess tissues extend beyond anterior abdominal wall. The nature of body lift surgery is similar to abdominoplasty, however, the difference lies in the length and pattern of incision which runs around the body. Body lift is performed under general anaesthesia, the duration of the operation is from 4 to 6 hours, recovery time takes 4-5 weeks.
Buttocks, hips, back, the whole posterior surface of the body should be considered as a whole, any procedure should be planned with adjacent areas in mind. The best results are achieved by combining augmentation, reduction and excision of excess tissues techniques.
Buttock augmentation is a surgical correction of the volume and shape of buttocks which is realized with a gluteal implant or native tissues (lipofiling). As a result of buttock augmentation the contour of the buttocks is improved, the volume and firmness of the gluteal area are resolved, asymmetry and ptosis of tissues are reduced.
Incisions for a buttock lift are performed horizontally on the top of the buttocks; the tissues are transferred to the areas which lack volume in order to enhance their volume; excess skin is excised.
Brachioplasty (arm lift)
Brachioplasty is a surgical procedure to remove excessive loose skin and excessive fat in the upper arms area. The problem is common after massive and quick weight loss which resulted in loose skin on the arms.
An arm lift helps restore lost beauty of arms, remove unsightly drooping skin and give toned appearance to arms. The incision for brachioplasty runs from the underarm to the elbow and sometimes may span on the side of the chest wall. In some cases an arm lift is combined with liposuction, which is the removal of excess fat, and vice versa, the removal of excess fat on arms may require an arm lift.
Plastic surgery on calves
The shape of legs must be estimated all over. To change the appearance of calves augmentation with implants, liposuction, lipofiling and their combinations are possible.
While viewing the photos pay attention to the time froperation date. It is of crucial importance to estimate the result. The general rule is that post-operation changes last 6-12 months. Be critical when estimating operation results found on the Internet with no time reference: you can be misled about potentials of a certain operation method in the long term. With the informative purposes, short term result photos are posted here. From my point of view this is how correspondent areas look after certain operations. Pay special attention to the quality of scars. They are prone to changes up to 1-1.5 years.
Not all operation results are consequences of the ideal choice of the operation method from the surgeon’s point of view. For example, sometimes breast lift combined with augmentation instead of breast augmentation alone is indicated to achieve optimal result, however the patient rejects the surgeon’s choice for fear of additional trauma, dislike of the scar, longer-lasting anaesthesia and etc. In that case the choice of the operation method is a compromise between the surgeon’s and patient’s opinions.
